Anonym 8 years agoAfrican sounding woman purporting to be from TalkTalk, stating I had problems with my computer modem and speed etc. No such problems - obvious scammer, up to no good. Immediately blocked the number. I am no salesman but I bought CPR Call blocker about 5 months ago and have had very few problems since .(1)

The late Mrs Chambray 8 years agoThis number rang me this morning and asked for Mrs Chambray (they have rung on the home phone regularly over the last 8 months - who is she?) - before I could answer, I was told very rudely that I was Mrs Chambray by an Asian gentleman (to whom I am certain, I have spoken to before). In the end I interrupted him and explained patiently that I was not Mrs Chambray which he insisted I was - so I told him that she was dead and he should remove my number from his database - before I could finish he hung up!(0)

A N Other 8 years agoSaid that they were from Windows and that my computer was running slowly, asked for me to go to the computer and give them remote access to it...( as if ). I played along for a bit, pretended to go to the computer, they asked me if I thought I was intelligent...I said that I wasn't as clever as Einstein but cleverer than they are...then asked them nicely.." how does Windows know about my computer being slow...I have a Mac"....they hung up!!(0)

Martyn 8 years agoFrom the other comments I see on here it makes me think that they are doing what IT pros call Phishing. They collect different bits of data from you over various phone calls so that when they finally ring you, they know so much about you that you would think it was genuine. ie They will ring asking for the correct person and talk to you about your actual device that you told them about in other telephone calls. Whether that be a computer, washer or other gadget just to get their foot in the door so to speak and trick you. If you get weird calls over a period of time and then get what you think is a genuine call just check it out please as you could be scammed very easily(2)

Anonym 8 years agoPhoned and asked if I had had a nationwide mortgage previously so said yes as I had had issues with them about PPI protection when ill, then asked about age and then just hung up
