G Chambers 9 years agoCalled today Indian man said fault with computer.Immediately suspicious asked for number to call back gave above said name was Jack Lee number 786 .Tried number no connection.Perhaps customers should be advised of this scam as some may fall for it.(1)

Damien 9 years agohad a call from a so-called Harry Smith, allegedly calling from Talk Talk. Strong Indian accent, barely intelligible. Said my Internet connection was at risk and he wanted me to do something on my computer or something terrible would happen, my connection wasn't secure and my details would be stolen and my internet would be very slow, etc. When I asked how I could check the call was genuine, he said my name, address and Talk Talk account number, then said "how would I know that if it wasn't genuine"? I found it very odd/unprofessiomal. He started asking what key was besides the Ctrl key, I found it odd (presumably he wanted to know what computer/OS I had). Then asked me to press the Windows key + "R" key (to launch the Run app) and type something in. I didn't do it. I asked for a phone number to call back and he gave me number 02031291411 but he said I would only get the 'general tech support' and they didn't know 'the real problem' with my account/connection, only he did. He started pressing me to do things on my computer immediately and he was getting even more pressing/unprofessional, I hung up. Clearly a scam.

Anonym 9 years agoEdwin, an Indian sounding man with a very poor command of English has called 10 times today - apparently from Talk Talk. He's suggesting I have many faults or errors on my computer. He said his telephone number is 0203 1291411. It's a scam!(2)

BD 9 years agoPls BEWARE of calls from this number. Its a scam call. Turned out that it's an attempt to install " Supremo remote control " software on my computer.Got a call from a man with a foreign accent ( Indian or Pakistani) claiming to be calling from talk talk. Claim talk talk had detected problem with my internet service and he needs to guide me through installation of programme on my computer that will prevent this problem before my computer crash. I became suspicious of being asked to download a programme into my laptop without being able to verify the identity of the man calling me. Insisted he gives me the number he was calling from and he gave me the above telephone number and also claim his name is "Steve Wilson " . Indian or Pakistani man named Steve Wilson ??( Oh he even spelled the name -- and this name from a man with very poor command of English language !! ).
Anyway I discontinued the phone call, phoned Talk Talk customer service on the official Number. Talk Talk checked and from their record there had been no call to my landline from Talk Talk. So pls BEWARE.

Catherine 9 years agoCalled by Christine Smith claiming to be a TalkTalk engineer - our computer is being repaired at the moment but she kept insisting on calling back, claiming that there were viruses being downloaded onto my computer causing it to run slowly. Clearly a scam, don't give them any information.(1)
