Miriam 9 years agoJust reported this to OFCOM. Was called offering a grant, asked for a name and phone number. Guy said he was Michael Clark. I told him no way was the Government going to give me money and I had all the home improvements needed thanks including solar panels. I hung up. He rang back berating me for not listening to him. I told him he was invading my privacy and hung up again. He rang back, I let off my personal alarm. He rang back again so I repeated alarm. He rang back again and my son took it. My son, who has a warped sense of humour, asked if the caller wanted to sell his soul to the devil. My son took two more calls in the same manner. So called Michael Clark was getting angry and said he was going to spread our number around. We then left the answer phone to get the next three. Don\'t know about possible scam, more like definite scam and aggressive too.(0)

Anonym 9 years agoTold me I was going to get £7000 government grant - gave me a code number and told me to phone this number. I spent ages talking to him (if he\'s bothering me, he\'s not bothering someone who is vulnerable), getting him to repeat things etc etc. If we all took this approach, would it help so many calls getting through?(0)

Mr D Atkinson 9 years agoalso just had call telling me I was rewarded with 8k for being a model citizen, not being bankrupt, paying taxes on time etc (strange since I\'m currently contesting almost 5k of penalties from HMRC)... I decided not to call and have someone try to con me out of bank details etc ....

Gareth 9 years agoI too have qualified for an £8000 grant to pay off debt, buy a car etc. but no gambling or alcohol! Strong Indian accent and a highly unlikely English name! David Cameron and his greasy robbing toffs must be going soft, I thought. It was such a pathetic scam that I had to restrain myself from laughing. I assume the number given to claim my \'grant\' is going to cost an arm and a leg to call, or they wouldl be phishing for bank details if I did call.
