Jodie 5 years agoMy grandad was missold a service agreement, he is elderly and was contacted and ddidnt know what he was signing up to. Even when I tried to cancel within 14 days I was told it wouldn't be possible. I emailed a complaints handler a week ago and have not had the courtesy of a reply. I wouldn't even give one star if I could. The lady I spoke to on the phone was extremly unpleasant i have never experienced such awful customer service.(1)

Alan 5 years agoHad a phone call re washer warranty up for renewal quoted £199 for 5 yrs . Must admit did seem uneasy should have gone with my gut instinct but paid with my card .
On receiving paperwork decided to use my 14 day cooling off period and sent by signed for delivery back to address ., having been told via phone call would receive full refund within 10 days .
Well no surprises no cheque and phoneline I had kept dead .
Guessing that’s me lost £199 !!!128542; so just wanted to put it out there to warn others .
Have full address. Of company and phone number turns out it’s just an office you can hire . ,

Anonym 5 years agoAs many of you will already know, this company is particularly keen to target the elderly, my mum included. Fortunately for her, the bank automatically cancelled her card to prevent any transaction from taking place but they have since called her to try and force her to pay the 'instalment' they claim is owed, even though there is no actual contract. On that occasion, one of her carers was present and took over handling the call but still, it left mum worrying that she might owe money and I have no doubt that they will try again.(0)

Ellen 5 years agoFurther to this thread re Service Monkey taking money without consent, I have reported them to Trading Standards and Action Fraud who are investigating. Please record your experience with them, it is easy and they must be stopped. You can do it online or phone 03001232040. The more evidence the more likely we can prevent them conning anyone else. Company taking advantage of elderly people. A lady I help was sold a policy to cover a TV for 3 years but she already has insurance, she contacted them the day after receiving paperwork and they pressured her into keeping the policy. She then called them back later that day to say she had changed her mind and the lady she was speaking to told her she cant cancel the policy now as she said she would keep it earlier and now she's just messing them around. The cooling of period is something required by law and these fraudsters are not honouring that.
